Hi Handsome, originally uploaded by maceelaine.
I cannot believe how big Jack’s gotten. And how handsome. He’s a pretty awesome cat and I can no longer remember what it was like without him around.

Dino quilt!, originally uploaded by maceelaine.
I was going through my pictures, and came across this one again. It reminds me that I miss Brainforest. So, this Dino Quilt is for you, courtesy of the San Mateo County Fair.

Sutro Gardens / Sutro Baths, originally uploaded by maceelaine.
I had locked myself in the house all last week, cleaning, trying to figure out how to hang art without putting huge holes in the wall, and trying to remain calm. But all went well, and on Sunday afternoon, I was ready to NOT BE IN MY HOUSE.
Inspiration struck, and my favorite boy and I headed over to the edge of the city, where it was a little windy and definitely not hot. It felt good to stretch my legs and feel the sunshine, and take some pictures for the first time in ages.

Mace owns a sundress, originally uploaded by maceelaine.
Okay, so not the best of pictures, but better than the headless ones. Everyone can ooh and aah now.

I have a lot of things I want to write about: dancing in Sac, going to the movies for the first time in forever, seeing the Dresden Dolls. But first I have to share with you two things about photography.
baby monkeys
ramvik coffee
shark ballerina
new scary ghost
teenage lesbians
crusing 2007
hobbitat tent
What does this imply about my photography? (and what is crusing?)

French Toast with Peach Compote, originally uploaded by maceelaine.
First, get everything ready to make this recipe while your SO is in the shower. Make the compote, make the egg wash for the bread, and set out the bread for dipping. Then leave the materials out and let your SO dip the bread and cook it, and assemble it on a plate.
Then, when you’re handed this beautiful plate and about to dive in, make sure you say, “Look at this delicious food you have made! I am so excited to eat!”*
*You shouldn’t really have to play this up too much, because it is, indeed, delicious.

I’ve been feeling a little sensitive about my weight lately, and this is SERIOUSLY not helping. I was kind of freaking out all day, until my mother assured me that it was the camera, not my face.

Here’s what I really think I look like:

Except, you know, in color.
